Stuck in Leviticus

Reading through the Bible in a year always has a few roadblocks for me. It's hard to bring my big Bible that has each day's reading marked by date with me when traveling. Also, if I miss a day or two, it's hard to catch up. Each day's segment contains a reading from the old testament, one from the new testament, a Psalm, and a Proverb. It takes me about 40 minutes to read each day's section. So, if I need to read two day's worth of material in one day, well, it's hard to have the time to do it in one chunk. The biggest problem for me, though, is what I'm dealing with right now. The old testament reading is currently from Leviticus. I'm fine with Genesis. The genaeology gets a little bit hard to follow, but overall, I'm okay. Exodus gets a bit more tedious. The building specifications are sooo detailed. But Leviticus. I can barely get through it. All of the sacrificial directions for specific animals---ugh. I find myself skimming the words when I get to this kind of stuff, and unfortunately, "this kind of stuff" is the overall theme of Leviticus. I'm determined to get through it, but I may return to veganism before I do!
